ring and pinion setup shims

    as i was setting up the 4.88's on my dana 60 today something popped in my skull.

    how do they make these shims so mudder****ing thin? :crazy:

    Better yet I work in a tool shop where we use shim that is .0005 thick ! On the back of the pack it has a MFG. toerance of +/-.00005 on the thickness :eek1: Yep thats 50 millionths :eek1: :eek1:

    I was told that it's run through a super precision roller line that is constintly monitered by a computer with infrared(?) eyes.

    Or maybe its just magic :haha:
