    Rod Hall\'s Off-Road H2

Talked to Chad Hall in the pits, the H2 was still out. From my best guess, this was the second test for the H2 under race conditions. Chad stated that all they have done to it was put on some shocks and added a cage.

From what I saw and with an unbiased sentiment echoed from the Prez of POR, who I was watching the race with, this thing was incredibly fast.

Chad laughed when I told him they were going to ruin the H2's reputation.

I can only imagine that it runs like a hot cake if Rod Hall is racin it.

Must have done some tuning. Wasn't more than normal speed at V2R. Seem to recall a broken upright then too, at about the 200-250 mile point.

Had to beef the front suspension up. After seeing that vid with the tierods blowing it's got issues. Same issues the IFS has always had. Was real bad in the S trucks.

What's race weight? I bett stripped down no windows they got 1,000 lb off that pig.

what a race h2 needs is a totanka-style fiberglass replacement body... THEN that sucker would really move! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif dunno what the body on a h2 weighs, but it looks unbelievably heavy.

Don't know the weight, I'd say that having the weight of the truck, and guesstimate the weight of a normal race load with spares and all, one could come close.
