    roll bar ?\'s

I would like to have a way to carry my canoe on top of my K5 with the top off. I think I heard that you can take a rollbar out of an older 4 runner and it will bolt right up (I would like to turn the rollbar around backwards - I really don't need it to be functional beyond serving as a rest for the canoe)

    Any ideas? tips?

    Thanks

I htin the 4 runner bar would be too small.. There were some factory rear roll bars out there. Try posting a want ad in the forsale section.
The factory rear bar bolt in back by the tailgate and was just a single hoop.... Not sure what years they were in.

My '77 had that rear bar. Don't know what other years might have had them though. I've looked inside a lot of K5's an JY's and never have found one. [IMG]

My 79 has the factory rear roll bar. Part of it bolts to the wheel well and the other part bolts to the floor.

Here is another thought. Do you have a trailor hitch reciver. If so you could weld something up to go into the hitch reciver that extends to the height of the truck. Then you could mount the canoe on that. It would be cheap and easy.

I thought about suggesting the trailer hitch attachment point as well, but then you can't open the taigate if you need to. [IMG]
