For a custom job for my Blazer what is a ball park figure for a cage bolted to the frame? (nothin too fancy) all i want that might be extra (im guessing) is a spot for seatbelts and a bar going across the doors since i will be taking those off. Remember im a college student so please dont give me a link to Mr.Fancypantsracecages.com please. I just need practical cause my parents are footn most of the bill and I dont want to suck them dry since they are helping me with school expenses as well.

DesertDueler said it's between $1000-1500 to get a good cage installed.

Thats right hossbaby. Me and my dad put cages in race cars all the time. For example the labor to put a 10 point cage in a mustang is $800. Thats just labor. The cusstomer suplies the cage kit from either competition engineering or art morrison, and we bend them a little to make them fit. I personally like the way art morrison cages fit in the cars. Thats the kit I bought for the Firebird. Giver them a call. Sorry dont know the number but should be easy to find on the web. I just bought a new tube bender that will do 90 degree bends without kinking the pipe, unlike the pipe benders. so we will be making our own cages so the will be about $1300 total for material and labor for the cars. For 4x4 they will be between 1300 and 1600 for material and labor.

Tell me about your tube bender, I'm looking for a good one. I've shopped around a few places and most only have pipe benders.

I was just going to say that, they have them for I think $199, then just have a local shop make it mount to the frame. I was going to go that route but nobody makes a 1955 Willy's wagon with blazer floor roll cage, LOL

Yeah shipping kinda sucks... like $120.... but maybe you could get a CK5 member who you could trust to pick it up and mail it Forward Air which would be cheaper I am sure...... and from what I know the cage is longer so you could cut the floor and attach it to the frame. So hey might work... maybe even after you get it in take it someplace and have some bars added where ya want... even mount the seats... could turn out cool for less cost! [IMG]

Talk about price inflation. My dad had his CJ cage built and installed for $200 and the guy throw in the padding and tape for it. This was in the mid to late 70's

Does anybody have pics of the S&W cage installed in a K5? I have seen Harry's setup and it looks good, just want to compare it to other installations...
