    I got a quote froma local guy that bends up rollcages. This is what I asked for:

    2-pillar pieces that I would connect to a factory 73-75 rollbar I am planning on using
    1-piece that runs along the top of the windshield
    2-stinger? pieces that would connect from the middle of the windshield piece and run back to the factory rollbar (used for holding CB's and such)

    The tubing consists of .135 wall thickness and 2" cold rolled steel. He said he would supply the steel and make the bends for $200. I would have to notch, fit and weld it in myself.

    Good deal?

    Thanks
    Ross

    Its my exp. that bends are 35 bucks each plus steel.

    Add it up and see what ya get.

    18 or so feet of pipe at around 2 bucks a foot for HREW plus the other two feet (cause he is gonna charge ya for the whole stick) =========40 bucks

    2 bends =====70 bucks....

    He still has to cut it up so.....$6 a cut x 5 cuts=== $$30

    TOTAL=====150 bucks....he is making 50 bucks

    figure in the fact he has to take the time to measure, handle the steel, tools etc. etc.(2 hours time)

    he is making 25 bucks an hour.

    Sounds more than far to me...

    sounds fair to me. its like paying a mechanic. you dont pay him for what he does but what he knows how to do and the tools he has
