Can anyone tell me if when you install roller rockers on a motor if they are supposed to be put on any looser or tighter than a standard rocker arm, or should they be tightened to the same specs as a standard rocker arm?
    Thanks for any advise.
If it matters they are on Vortec heads on a 383 in my buddies 72 K5.

It should be the same as factory rockers. I have my roller rockers set at zero lash plus a quarter turn. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I second the "same as normal" position.

Zero lash and then 1/4 to 1 more full turn.

BTW, they SHOULD line up correctly, but make sure the roller tips align on the valve stem correctly. They should "roll" towards the center as the rocker starts to move. Too close to either side of the valve stem to begin with and you can have some serious problems later on.
