alright... i have thought long and hard about this. and because of russ and his truggy the bed of my 74 is going bye bye. I BLAME THIS ON YOU RUSS!! yes, yer a good guy. but ya caused me LOTS of work.

so, here are my plans. cut the fram as far back as i can from the springer setup, remove the bedsides, and the back 1/3 or so fo the wheel wells. 2" by 4" the mounting points (kinda like russ') and mount the cage from there. sliders and all.. yadda yadda yadda. i am still thinking of narrowing the front as well....

Don't forget to cut the floor pan out for ease of access to the trans & t/case.

I have 2 things going for me to repel the influences of "Darth Truggy"
    1. I don't live anywhere near you guys so the "Peer pressure" is a minimum.
    2. I have no place to store extra parts and work on a project like that. I live in Air Force base housing for now....but next year is a different story /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Just uploaded some new pics. Check here (at the bottom) for the new cross member pics. Should have more later when I get the actual cross bar done and installed...

i dunno yet. i MAY just end up "marvn" the back bedsides and dove tailing the rear. ill keep yall updated. i was out looking at it just now and i think i would make it impractical for me to be able to drive like that. i need room for a full size spare, a tool box, parts storage, fuel tank, more spare parts, and more tools. all locked up and bolted down. but i am removing a lot more than origonaly planned. i guess the blame could be put on you AND marv... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've been sniffing around for an aluminum "tool chest" for a truck bed. Not the boxes that go over the sides, but just a square box with a lid. Most are too wide, but I want to mount it to my bars and use it for, well, basically, a trunk...
