Has anyone here put a sm465 behind a 4.3L V6? Just wandering. With all the talk about hybrids lately I'm thinking about putting one together. I've got a '93 s-10 that I basically have no money in that has a very good running 4.3 in it. I'm thinking about using the s-10 frame and body and putting a D44 under the front and a 12b or 14b under the rear. Maybe use the front spring pockets for some kind of coil set up I've got a set of 35 tsl/sx I could put on it and I have a 465/205 that I could put behind it. Has anyone run a set up like this? How do you think it would work? Input please /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

My younger son and I are putting a 2.5L 96 5 speed in his 85 2.8L s10. We are dealing with several issues that were unexpected. You would probably not have a problem as you are using a 4.3L which looks like a 5.7L to a trany. You might consider a 5 speed Getrag from a 88-92 1/2 ton chevy 4x4. They are not a heavy duty transmission like a NV4500 but they are a lot cheaper and should hold up fine behind a 4.3L.
