    ?\'s about changing ball joints

On a D44, Im trying to change all 4 joints but I cant get the spindles off. Ive done this before on another axle, but cant seem to get these off. How do the pro's do it? There must be a tool or something. Surely GM mechanics dont beat on them with a hammer and a 2x4 /forums/images/icons/smile.gif. Any ideas?

The proper tool to use to remove the spindle is a block of wood that is 12" long, 2" thick, and 4" wide. You then use a 2# hammer and knock it loose /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    Some PB Blaster couldn't hurt.

Yes. GM Mechanics used 2x4's, or Rubber mallets, or whatever they had on hand at the time that would not damage the spindle.

Slathering on never-seez will make it alot easier to remove the next time.
