Whatever happened to Trick or Treating in your own neighborhood. It's comin on 7 o'clock and we've seen five kids. There's a grade school not two blocks away!

    I'm bummed.

I ran out of candy an hour ago. I had even stopped before I got home to get some extra for me.

Most kids now days go to school or church events instead of out roaming the streets.

Yeah, the wife was on about "Park or Treat" or some such ... church parking lot. Crazy world we live in that you gotta worry about this sort of thing.

6:30 here and we've had over 70 kids so far. It's a townhouse complex though, so a lot of parents drop their kids off at the entrance and let em do the rounds. We usually see well over 100 kids every year.

some good costumes this year! :waytogo:

At my church, they call it "trunk or treat" everybody parks their cars in the parkinglot nose first into the parking stall, and pops the trunk, where the candy is kept.

Our nieghborhood was pretty busy. I went out with 5 other parents and our kids and just went around the block once.

When I got home from work, I pulled up on the bike and saw a kid walking out of my driveway, for a split second I was ready to get medieval, then I remembered trick or treaters...

    It really blows chunks!!!

This and Christmas are my favorite holidays. We just had a group of about ten come through but I remember the days of 50 plus kids.

Around here the parents will leave the back door of their van open and drive the kids from block to block. When I was a kid I had to work for my candy and actually walk the whole night. And we wonder why we have fat kids? And something about excited kids and sight-restricting masks and night time and over 100 soccer moms cruising around in vans doesn't make much sence to me. A disaster waiting to happen...

No body wants any of my razorblade stuffed apples and the LSD stickers aren't a big hit either, it's just not like it used to be...

Dang, best costume tonight was a Texas Chainsaw massacre deal...10 year old kid with a real chainsaw. Not a small chainsaw either...thing had at least a 24" bar on it.  At least he didn't have it running (and Dad was with him to mind the saw between stops)

Just over 90 kids right now...

We only had about 100 this year, still trickling in though. Last year we easily had 250 kids. I live at the edge of town in a new neighborhood so the kids in the country hit us hard. There were some great costumes this year, the best was a couple of kids that were maybee 2 or 3 years of age dressed as Pebbles and Bam Bam.

We just barely broke 100 this year...nowhere near our record, but still decent.

    I'm sorry Corey.

What's the fun in going to a parking lot or a mall? I always found lots of fun in seeing what the neighbors had in store for us. There was a house down the street that seemed to always scare us. Just don't seem to see the fun in going from trunk to trunk to trunk.

Besides, we like decorating our house with fun things for the kids to see.

Guess we don't understand leaving the neighborhood.:(

What's really sad is that my wife gave away all of the dots.

And the neighbors that had porch lights on, but weren't home/wouldn't answer the door :dunno:
