I'd like to hear of Ted Kennedy actually going on such a drinking binge tonight we hear of them having to rush him to the hospital for alcohol poisoning!

We would have to go offshore, not enough domestic alchohol in the US to poison that tub of crap.

I wonder, has Ted Kennedy drunk so much yet that he's actually developed liver cirrosis yet? I'd be surprised if he hasn't had a liver transplant or two yet.

What? The Secret Service has an organ farm in Iowa devoted entirely to producing Kennedy replacement livers, he is currently going through one a month.

I still like how the leftwing media rags refer to O'Connor as a "moderate conservative". If you support the idea of the government forcibly taking land from someone and giving it to rich developers you can't claim "conservative" in any part of your self discription. I'm not saying O'Conner is at fault... its all the media's doing and its a total joke.

Also pretty funny how Yahoo news goes on and ON about how close the vote was compared to recent nominees... casting some kind of shadow of doubt about the guy. The reason Ginsburg got in with like 90 votes is because repubs aren't assholes when it comes to Democrat-President nominees... not because Alito is soooooo controversial or partisan. Ginsburg not only loves abortion, but actually says the government should be paying for it. Now THAT is "controversial and partisan" and yet the repubs recognized that the Constitution allows the President the power to nominate supreme court justices. If the candidate knows the law and knows the Constitution, then they are qualified and should be voted in. Its not the Senate's choice, its the President's. Of course if you read the NY Slimes then you think Alito is just the next salvo from the real axis of evil (bush/cheney/rove), meant to get ultra conservatives onto the court to get rid of abortion.

Roe vs Wade is a demonstrably bad interpretation of the Constitution... and THAT is why it should be over ruled.... not because wenches who can't keep their legs closed and don't want to spend their money on anyone but themselves shouldn't have the right to tear the child inside them into bloody chunks and toss the remains in a bag marked "bio hazard" which finds its way to the streetside dumpster the next morning. I'm all for stabbing unborn babies in the head with a pair of scissors to avoid having to pay daycare, but a Supreme Court decision is not the way abortion should be legallized. There should be a law crafted by elected officials, voted on, passed and signed by the Pres/Gov.

There's also the possibility that Alito may wind up still being the swing vote too or siding with the liberal half of the court a lot. Think back for a second back to when Justice Warren (can't remember his first name), the man who swore President Kennedy into office and later led the Warren Commission investigating his assassination. He was nominated and confirmed as Chief Justice in the late 50's by Eisenhower because it was believed he'd be a strictly conservative ideologue on the Court. Well, turns out that Mr. Warren was who led the court to it's landmark and groundbreaking Civil Rights decisions of the 1960's, thought at the time to be very liberal decisions.
