How can they restrict offroading on private land? And shooting a weapon (assuming not in city limits)? And why doesn't the 1 concerned property owner restrict access to his own land?

Sort of like that round here.{Tenn}3yrs ago landowners{400 acres}got local law to close a public road to 4X4s only, because it crossed their land to get to power, pipe lines and large paper company land.Law wrote a few tickets first year.Local news{Nashville}did story on it and the nest year there were three times as many people there. They racked up on tickets this time.Game wardens came out good in deal. They used publicity to help get new 4X4s and 4wheelers to patrol area.Lots of them act like stormtroopers and like to brag that they get paid to play and write tickets to others in their playground. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Sounds like the land owners didn't want them there. If that was the case its easily done.

They don't mind a few locals playing there once in a while.Couple of their kids even go with us.What they didn't want was 3-400 strangers in there on New Years Day.We've been riding there for bout 20 yrs without much damage, but,it was really trashed the two years before that on N.Y. day. Can't say that I blame them for what they did.We try to let them know when we are going and they have seen some of us cleaning up after others so we still get to play there some. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
