What's the best Scan tool that I can hook up to my PC for Chevy diagnostics and code reader?

    Are there Handhelp scanners too?

There are no good mechanics where I come from so I am planning to get a Scanner/Computer for easy diagnostics.

that depends on what type of comp you have in your truck.

'87-'95 use OBDI - those codes can be read with a paper clip. all you need is a manual listing the error codes.

'96-'99(old body style) use ODB II - those codes need the expensive code reader. you should be able to go down to auto zone or pep boys and get a scanner....if not, order from summit. the only thing with this is that the scanners are expensive. if i remember right, its about $200+ - but, you won't have to rely on getting your truck to a mech or the dealer for a computer diagnosis.
