The letters seem to take their time coming up when I type and the scroling is very slow now. What happened?

Sounds like you've been tagged with a keystroke grabber. It sends everything that you type to a remote host, including usernames and passwords. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Search google for a file called cwshredder.zip. It will clean it up. And then stop visiting all those porn sites that hijack your system! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Also check out Spybot. It's a freeware program that cleans out lots of scumware and also prevents much of it from installing in the first place.

Switching to a different browser can also help. Most of the crap that's out there attacks Internet Explorer, but won't work with Netscape, Mozilla, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
