I am going to replace the seal between my top and cab. I found two different designs (I think) one is a two piece and the other is a one piece. the one I have is a one piece. so what is the other one for? On the two piece it says cab side and the other says top side. Is it the same thing. I hope this makes sence
    TIA

When you take the top off, you'll see that there are two seals. One that stays on the cab and one that stays on the top. I've replaced the one on the top because the sun destroys it. Never have had to change the cab one.

I'm just a little confused. Does your truck have a one piece or are you saying that you only bought one piece? I f you only bought one piece, that may be the only one you need. The outer one is the one I've known to go bad. Why are you replacing it? Have you taken your top of before? Is it leaking? Just trying to get more info.

sorry for the confusion :) let me try to explain better I have a 76&79 K-5. both of which I take the tops off of all of the time, both of them only have the seal that goes on the cab,but not on the top, should I the have the one that goes on the top?
did they make two designs? one with one gasket and one with two? or am I supposed to have two and it is just missing.
the reason for replacement is they are both(the one on the 76&79) are ripped and I have replaced all of the other gaskets on the 79 so I figured I might as well replace this one to. does this make sense?

According to my LMC catalog, 76 thru 91 had the two seals. I know the one on the top gets glued on with weatherstrip adhesive. I don't know how the cab one is attached though. LMC wants 19.95 a piece plus 8.75 shipping. The outer seal is the one that keeps the water off of your bolts and bolt holes so if you don't have that one you may want to get it to protect you cab from cancer.
    Hope this helps.
