seals around D60 upper kingpen?

    just got done putting my D60 back together minus the small seals that fit around the upper kingpen. How important are these and would you pull it all the way back down to add them?

    If you used RTV or similar product, I wouldn't worry about it, if not, they will probably leak a little grease.

    no its a small ruber seal that actually slides down on the pin itself. forms a seal between the pin and knuckle.

    if you grease the kingpin like you should-no big deal. I always had a rule every 3000 miles or if it goes under mud/water-then it's time to grease. Steve

    K Thats kinda what I was thinkin. Not a lot of precision working parts so I didnt think it should matter to much.

    yeah, i did the same thing...
    i have the seals, and one got put on. im just waiting to put my crossover stuff on to put the other on.

    Does anyone have pics of a kingpin R&R? I'd like to show them to a guy at work that insists kingpins are only on 2wd trucks. We don't stock the pins at Autozone so I can't show him. Well, if we do, I can't find them, and I sure did try. Even looked in the paper catalogs.
