    sean@azkickin.com = VIRUS???

Anyone know of a person named Sean @ AZKickin?

I received an unsolicited email (subject:HELLO) with an attachment.
The attachment (named DOC.ZIP) has the virus: VIRUS "W32.Novarg.A@mm" inside.

I hope no one opens that one.

That's the M.O. of the virus that's been spreading like crazy over the last few days.

Odds are that Sean got hit, and it went to his address book and recycled itself to everyone he had listed there.

There are plenty of sites already offering A/V solutions for it, just do a little searching on Google or wherever.....

    Fortunately, I didn't get infected...this time.

I thought I would put out the word just for a warning.

Yep, this virus hadn't even been seen until yesterday afternoon. It's pretty well written, it spoofs addresses like Melissa did so you think you got it from someone that you know. It made it through the firewall at my work and made a royal mess of things. If anyone gets it the fix is at any of the major antivirus companies, for free. www3.ca.com or www.symantec.com will have it.

Yep, I've gotten 7 of the emails since yesterday... Haven't opened them though. Already deleted and gone.

Keep in mind that it also spoofs return addresses. If someone has your name and his name in their address book, it could send something out to you with his return address, even though it isn't really from him. I have been dealing with this one since yesterday, here at work. Even though the computers here are clean, there have been a few emails that have come in from antivirus autoresponders. The autoresponders send it to wherever the return address is, even if it didn't really come from that person.

That is strange- (meaning the way these viruses can act).

I've never spoken to (or emailed) anyone @ AZKickin before...definitely strange.

Sorry I haven't been on the boards lately. I will check out our server and see what is going on. I do not keep customers or potential customers /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif e-mail addys anywhere for this reason. I'm not sure why my addy is getting spoofed....but I don't like it.

You probably don't have it. Someone you know does, and your email is in their address book. It sent it out from there, and spoofed it to look like it was from you. Then when a person contacts you to say hey, you sent me a virus, and you check, you'll probably be clean. It tries from the look of it to direct attention else where and not to the virus holder. That way it doesn't get caught, and can continue to do it's damage. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
