*search done* Furd 57\'s---a few Q\'s

Are the springs from a 86-96 4x2 the same as a 86-96 4x4? This will make it easier to locate.

Also, are teh spring eye bushing sizes teh same as stock K5 52inchers? Got new ORD greasables and was wondering if they will work.

    TIA

No they are different. If I remeber right the fords are 1 1/4" and your stock 52s are 1 1/2". Your ORD bushings will not work.

I'm pretty sure the 4x4 springs are different from the 4x2s. I'm sure someone will see the post and tell you for sure.

There are probably exceptions /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, but in my experience the 2wd's are always 2 1/2' wide while the 4wd's are always 3'' wide. I pulled mine from a '83 (?) 2wd and it is the 4 leaf pack + overload with UHMV pads and measure 57'' along the main leaf, so the '86-'96 rule is not always true either /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

OL14BLAZ called it on the bushings - the ford springs have a spring eye which is 1/4" smaller than the stock chevy eyes. The bushings measure 1 1/4".

    On some.....LOL

my 94 2.5" wide ones have two different size eyes, where as my set for the front have the same size eyes. (pre 86 on the front set)
