I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. When the parts counter guy pulled up the part number it showed a shock tower with the single verticle hole in the top for the stud type shock mount. He was sure that we didn't have the right part number. I told him to order them anyway. When they came in they were the right ones. I guess ford can't even get the right pictures with the right part numbers! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

That is the right part number no matter what the picture looks like that they pull up.

I just searched "shock towers", all forums, back to a year ago. The thread was on the first page. A tip for searching - start vague, then try to narrow the results by adding more keywords.

PI - The article is here.

Make sure you change the search options to "AND" instead of "exact phrase" (unless that's what you want).

the shock towers off of a newer super duty work better than the ones of a 1980. The stud points out allowing the shock to swing front to rear with out hitting the shock tower. And they are cast not stamped steel much beefier.

    Sid,

I saw those on your truck at the "Meet & Greet" in Moab!!! They look really cool....

If you come across that part number, please let us know. Like you said, they have a BEEFIER look to them....which adds to the coolness factor. Hopefully they come in other colors besides GREEN!!! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
