searched but couldn't find bout transfer case identification.

    searched but couldn\'t find bout transfer case identification.

    i went to a junkyard today and saw a 78 blazer with a sm465 and i'm tryin to find out what x-fer case came with it. on the shifter it said 4 low was the top one. i'm tryin to remember what the others were(bad memory) but all it had was 4low, neutral, 4 high and 2 high. but i do know 4 low was the top like i said. what could it possibly be? sorry for the newb question. later.

    Most likely a Np205

    look for the cap with the 3 bolts in the middle of the rear of the transfer case for a 205 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    alrite thanx man. its the np205. the guy wants 500 bux for everything but it don't come with a clutch or flywheel or bellhousing. plus he says that that is a great price. i've had a chance to get a 465 with a 205 for 150 but didn't have money. still don't just wonderin what x-fer case that was. thanx alot guys. later.

    500 for a 465/205 is too much IMHO.
