ok,I've figured out that the reason my guage quit working is because of the sending unit.how much money am I looking at to replace it? could I just get a used one from the junk yard? is there anyway to tell if its good?

I'm gonna take a guess & say you are talking about the gas tank sending unit. If so, I'd replace with new. There are some things I don't like to replace with used, and that's one of them.

i thought thats what was wrong with my gauge but it wasnt... it would never go above 1/2.
A new one ran about 120 + 30core or so...

Fuel tank sending unit, buy a new one, after getting all that dirt, and sand down Your neck, once is enough.
    I'd guess at $30.00 $40.00 buck's. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

it was a little piece of plastic the size of a nickle.

Check the ground to the sending unit. Occasionally mine will freak out and go crazy, mine will peg out beyond Full or not work at all. If I mess w/ the ground wire it starts working again. I suppose I could just fix the problem, but it still works. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
