Has anyone herd of a system for a 6.2 diesel. I keep shredding my A.C. and Alternator belts.
you can retro fit a serpentine system from a 6.5L. You have to change the water pump, and the pulleys of course. I'm getting reay to do it some time in the next month or so.
So what do you do with the A.C. compressor. Do you have to change it to the thin style? Also do you have to get all the brackets from the 6.5? Is there someone who sells used 6.5 parts?
I havent really looked into it all that far, i've laid the parts out, visualized where they will go etc. I dont have a/c. I bought a complete 6.5 engine/ with turbo and lots of extra stuff from a member on the board, engine had a scored cylinder. I also buy alot of parts from ebay. You just have to look around. I've only seen 2 early 6.2 trucks in bone yards. good luck , rugger
To do the serpentine belt you will need the new style compressor. Also make sure the brakets are from the same year 6.5 motor.'92-95 have one style while I think the newer setup started in '96-00.
