smart ass /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif yeah, i'm looking to swap a 44 rear and a dana 27 front out of like a 66 jeep. sould hold up well right??? i'll make sure its an old rear 44 with the 2 piece rear axles too- extra strong. plus with the dana 27 you get closed knuckles- keeps the mud out. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

no no you need to run a 12 bolt front axle, hard to find but indestructible, I saw a rig with one once, somewhere.... far away....

    Some 68-older Ford 1/2-tons had a D60SF in 5-on-5.5"

    Some 67-68 GM 1/2-ton 2wd trucks (& Burb) had a D60SF in 6-on-5.5".

Some 1/2-ton IH trucks and Travelalls had a D60SF in 5-on-5.5".

I have seen them in 60-66 Chevy and GMC 1/2 tons. D60 semi float axles with 6 on 5.5" pattern. They are a rare option though. 63-66 GMC's would be the best place to look since they used leaf spring rear suspension with 42.5" spring spacing (almost a bolt in after you move shock mounts).

However last one I saw on Ebay the guy was trying to get about $600 for it (I dont think he succedded however).

What pattern are you trying to get?

The 454 SS had a SF 14 w/ the standard 5 bolt truck pattern,

    88 ish 3/4 ton 2wd PUs had a 6 bolt 14SF,

and I dont know how, everyone says it shouldnt be, but I have a 60 SF 8 lug out of a K20 from the 80s laying around that needs gears. It came out of a truck that my dad did and it even has 60 on the web.

I held onto it to cut down for my Camaro that Ill prob never finish. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
