    Hey Guys,
I just read through Greg's post on doing the shackle flip for his 72. He mentioned not having to drop the tank on it. The rig I will be working on is a 77, will it require the tank being dropped, or is it just recommended to make it easier?
IIRC the flip the owner wants done is a 2.5 inch, not the 4 inch...
Any other gotacha's I should be aware of (for either)?
    Thanks Guys!

Hey, I am doing the shackle flip on my 77 K5 right now ! We did have to lower the tank, kinda a pain but we had to get new straps anyways so its all right.

Get new bushings too while you're at it....

It's not much more work to put them in at the same time, and once you see how BAD the originals look in those shackles.....you'll hate to have to re-install them on your beautiful new flip brackets!!! [IMG]

Thanks for the quick responses guys!
Sly why did you "have" to get new tank straps? Your's were toast or is that required w/ the kit?

    Greg,
    Whatever Zakk says goes LOL[IMG]!
I just install the parts he says too, and complain becasue the race car doesn't come back to the shop so dirty[IMG]. I come from a car background and play with race car designs in my spare time.
Since he has made a big deal of flexibility being the reason he wants to flip the shackles, I assume we will be doing everything else possible to minimize bind.
New bushings should help there, assuming they aren't delrin or solid aluminum. What's the hot set up for these? ORD's greaseable design right? I think I heard him mumble a thing or two about them [IMG]

Yep...the ORD greaseables are a work of art!

I replaced every bushing in my suspension with those ORD-greaseable dealios and the ride quality on the street is phenomenally better.....I can only imagine how much nicer it will flex once I get it off road.

riiight...just remember that the TICKING in Satan (his F*ord Mustand that decides when it wants to run) is a timebomb! Plus having another non-running rig in your front yard only helps the neighborhood real estate prices[IMG]
BTW, Jake's or the Brit this saturday, Sharks play at 7pm...
