shackle flip

    hello im new to this sight own a 73 k5 with 33's but my back sags (not the driver) thinking about a 2"shackle flip to bring the back up alittle anyone done a shackle flip on a 73 already have to cut the home made hitch off and i can deal with that any other suprises i need to be aware off read a couple tech articals doesnt look that bad . any input will be good thanks

    Scrap the springs. Mine on my 75 were hashed. I put a set of springs off a 86 and it rides MUCH better.
    Now let me point out something. the backs of these trucks taper down. They look like they are not level but in fact are. on level ground check the hight or level of the rockers.
    Yeah you can level it out with a flip for not much more you can put a 4 inch lift on it and actully have it ride well. I would get the Sway disconnects for it. That will cure bump steer on the street.

    thanks for the info how about a set of springs out of a 79 sub been thinking about a 4'' lift that would look reall cool and give me some clearance for the mud

    Subs run a longer spring I think so they will not fit.. Really you want to get a 80's spring. GM started putting teflon pads and a lower spring rate. Unlike what you got now when you lean on it it barely moves, these will. My 75 lifted with the newer springs ride so much better than my stock 79.
