What gauge is the sheet metal on the fenders? I want to trim some more on them and them the rear under my tail gate off.... anyhow I seem to eat up blades like crazy and figure next time I will get the ones for the job instead of the general metal ones.... thanks! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

It's closer to 22 or 26 guage...they build headers out of 16 guage.

I agree with tRustyK5, as I recall I've heard 22 or 24 ga., something in that neighborhood.

Wouldn't that be cool if they did make the body parts out of 22-26 gauge metal? /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Think about that...no more smashing body parts while rock crawling or hitting trees!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

The difference between 22 and 26 guage is measured in 'thou' Steph. Once you get to 18 guage and thicker it starts to be a more pronounced difference. At any rate the blades you choose don't care what you're cutting.

Wes 16 guage body panels would be cool, 'cept the truck would weigh 11,000 lbs instead of 6000 lbs /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

I just hacked some more off my rear fenders and trimmed my front bumper. Sorry no pics yet, but I'll take some pics on the 13th of April.

Yeah, I realized that, too. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

But, if someone were to have 2.5 ton axles under their truck and a big, big motor with lots of power.... /forums/images/icons/wink.gif (that set up should be able to move an 11,000 lbs. truck /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif)

Well I got one side all cut and the 3x3 box tube rock slider fit up and tacked...I can't go any further til the baby finishes her nap /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif My truck is parked under her bedroom window and it's the only spot I can work on it right now.

Whew I had to stop.... I got home worked for an hour and half but frick I'm parked in the sun. Only place to park is in the sun and it's sunny as can be like 80.... I know 80 isn't blistering hot, but when you have long pants and long sleeves on it sucks! Oh well cool down and back out I go... wheeeeeeeeee /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
