I got a buddy that can get just about any military gun there is. Including some launchers and large caliber guns. Im lookin at gettin an AK-47, but what are the legalities of shipping one?

Dont wanna send my money to him just to be questioned by USPS and the feds:doah:

Your buddy needs to ship it your FFL dealer of choice. You'll need to have your FFL dealer fax a copy of his FFL license to your buddy, so that he knows it's a valid FFL license.

Then you go and fill out the paperwork to get the gun registered in your name via your FFL dealer. You'll pay your FFL dealer for the background check and possibly a small fee for his service.

I hope the AK-47 you're thinking about getting is semi-auto fire only and has all the US compliance parts in it to make it 922R BATFE compliant.

Thing to be careful about "launchers"

Sometimes they are classified as "AOW" (All Other Weapons) or "Destructive Devices"... which would require a $200 tax stamp... assuming several other rules have been ment.
