I'm trying to find a reasonable way to ship roughly 700 lbs of mill from Iowa to Phoenix, Arizona. Looks like the freight companies are going nuts. Even Forward Air wants $250 to ship the thing. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

So, anyone got other suggestions? There's no rush, I just need to find a way to cut that shipping cost by a bundle.

Anyone driving this direction? Nice, pretty warm weather... Hmmmm? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Anyway, if anyone is going anywhere near Iowa and then into or near AZ, let me know and we will see if we can work something out...

Where at in Iowa, I may be making a trip up there in December. I can get it as far as Denver if I do.

Let me check. A friend of mine is a dispatcher for a Truckload carrier. I don't know if they have anything heading to AZ. Might be able to get you some space for next to nothing. Doesn't hurt to ask. I could go pick it up from Brent. He is only an hour away. Will let you know tomorrow.

Thanks. It may be possible to put together a relay team to make the connection. Hopefully we can come up with a full trip that will at least get it into range on each end. I'll let you know how it turns out and if your offer will help. Thanks much...

Now this sounds excellent! I'm looking forward to hearing the results. If it winds up in Tuscon, Flagstaff, or somewhere like that, I would be happy to go pick it up. Got my fingers crossed. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My contact isn't cutting me any slack. Sorry, I should have contacted him first. He said that $250 would be about right for shipping. If you need any help on a relay, let me know. I'll help if I can.

Hmmm, hadn't thought about that. How would one go about doing that? Any idea what it runs?
