    Depends on what you are shipping. I have found that Fedex Home Delivery usually has the best price. This is their ground service for residential delivery. If that doesn't work (doesn't serve all areas), I use Fedex ground. Found its rates will always beat UPS and sometimes by as much as 50%.

    For example, I looked into shipping tires. I could ship a 32x11.50x15 BFG AT from Dallas to Oregon (50 lbs, 33x33x12 size with no packaging) for $28 delivered in 4 days. Not too shabby. In comparison, UPS for the exact same shippinf details via UPS Ground was $44.
