ok so my K5 blazer i just bought has some crappy ass shocks lol who ever owned it before me screwed up the shocks some how. There no bushings left in the shocks so its just the metal loop and a bolt holding up the shocks. anyways i have a few questions.

1st ? is right now the truck has duel shocks up front but I dont think its right the way its set up.

each shock has its own bolt on top

but at the bottom there shareing the same bolt so one shock is in the shock mount and the other is right next to it with a spacer?

So the ? is should i just use one shock? or should i keep the set up he had?

also whats the best shock to use ? Right now i only plan on making it my daily driver.

it does have a 4in lift and 35in tires

    thanks
    Alan

the set up you described is stock for the front end... just put new bushings in unless the shocks are worn out

Quad front shocks were a factory option, and yes, they were mounted just as you describe (although they DID have bushings). ;)

You can buy a single shock for each side and do away with the extras. Unless you're desert racing the extra shocks just make the ride harsher.

mine came with it. but i did notice the outside shocks on mine limited my down travel by an inch or so so i took em off. so i now just have 1 shock on each side.

After installing Bilstein 7100s on the front of my Cummins ram I wouldn't install factory style quad shocks anymore. The ride control of one good shock is just amazing. If I did it again I'd install the 7100s on the rear also, currently have the 5150s and should have just spent the extra $$ for the rears. The 5150s aren't really that bad but you can notice the difference.
