shocks for 2.5\" lift fit on 3\" lift? BTW...4WPW SUCKS!!!!!!

I put my lift on the other day and my front shocks won't fit. they are for a 2.5" lift and mine is a 3" lift. They will not extend anymore, but there is still a lot of piston sticking out. Should these fit? They are Ranch RSXs that I got about a year ago and I'm gonna be pissed if they don't fit. Also I have quad shocks but I'm gonna remove one so i'll have a better ride. which one should I remove?

Re: shocks for 2.5\" lift fit on 3\" lift?

I went ot 4Wheel Parts where they installed the shocks with the receipt and part numbers. They looked up the part numbers and sure enough, they put on shocks for a 0-2" lift when I had the 2.5". I asked them if there was any reason they did tha tand they said they must have just messed up. I said if they had put the right shocks on it wouldn't be a problem. The guy said that it worked for aver a year and if I hadn't messed with it it would be fine. I told him it should have been fine b/c they screwed up. I didn't get anything accomplished, but I'm going back evey day until I get something out of it. He said all I have to do is buy 2 shocks. I told him if thats all it takes why doesn't he just give them to me. thats $104 I shouldn't have to spend. Should I call the BBB? I'm tire of 4WPW screwing up.

What ? Those are the right schocks for lift that 4wpw put on. 0-2" = 2.5' lift right?
Ahum the next size is for a 4" lift ?
You wanted them to but 4" lift schocks on a 2.5" Lift ?

I don't get it....in your first post you said you have a 3" lift, in your second post you said you have a 2 1/2" lift, I'm not real sure what you're problem with them is ? Anyway, I bought shocks from them about a month ago and they sent me front shocks that were way too short, I gave them a call and they fixed it right away. I was mad at first, but then they handled it promptly and got it corrected. I thought they took care of my situation quite well. I'm not trying to say you don't have a case, I'm just saying I don't really see the problem you're having. Can you explain it a little better ?

Sorry I had a 2.5" lift that was add-a-leafs but I just put on a 3" Tuff Country the other day. The sizes for the Rancho shocks are 0-2" lift and 2.5-4". That would mean that a 2.5" lift would need 2.5-4" shocks. For some reason they gave me the wrong ones. I broke a shock mount, and I'm sure this didn't help it at all. I'm not expecting them to do anything about that though, I dont really car if they do, bu the shock part makes me a little mad.

4 Wheel Parts is great!(retail, dont know about mail order). I figured out that you have to double and triple check your order and make sure to explain it to them very clearly what you want done, ordered etc, then the chance of them screwing up is lessened(is that a word?).

I don't see how Four Wheel Parts Wholesteelers stays in business. They are bunch of idiots. The last time I saw something positive about them was about 98099894578 years ago.

Well I went up there againt and talked to the manager and they are going to exchange them for RS 9000s because they cant get RSXs in 2.5-4" size anymore. I'm gonna have to pay $17 more per shock because of the price difference and they are going to put them on. I'm glad this has worked out.

I'm not a fan of that company, asked about 14bolt axle bearing kit(Complete) I specifically asked about if it had all bearings including the outter wheel bearings-three times- this guy who took my order said it did. When I got it nada-no. Went to return it later( unopened) no return policy. Reported to BBB-still pissed. Paid another $75 for 4 bearins and races. I'd rather buy from JC Whitney any day!

I have nothing but great things to say about the 4WPW in Fresno, CA. They guys are great, they are knowledgable, and are very active in the local 4WD clubs.

They try to stick you with full retail shelf price.
I asked them about some 36" radial swampers. They quoted something like $180 or slightly more.
I told them about an ad I saw for $159. They won;t match it because it's not local.
It's liek they're doing you a favor to sell you crap.
But the manager rocks - he'll work the price and really knows his stuff when it comes to Chevy 4x4's.

I put 'em on today and it rides so good! It is still a little rough because its a truck, but its more like a Z71 would be. I have quad shocks in front and I put them on setting 1 and the back ones on 2. I cant believe what a difference it made. The TC lift and RS 9000 shocks are an awesome combination.
