    Yes, saw lots of old post concerning shocks, but would like
    to ask your oppinion:
    Blew my Gabriel highjackers in North-Italy trails.
    Any suggestion for replacement? Go again for highjackers or just go for shocks?
    '79, 35x12.5, 4" lift, single shock front.
    Any idea where to order them?
    Need new speedo-shaft as well, how can I find out ratio?

    Check the RANCHO range of shocks. They will give you far better service than those things you used up to now mate. I run the 5000's and even if some folks think they are a bit hard, I prefer them to the others.

    About those 9000's they have an adjustable knob on them right? Is this for compression, rebound, both, or what? How about getting mud and water on the knob? Do they get tough to adjust?

    Wasn't me.............

    nine clicks from soft to hard.At the place where I bought mine they had a 55 gal drum with one mounted on the top. With the adjustment on one you could move the handle up and down easily, when you move the adjustment up to nine you could not move the shock at all, now install the control box in the cab and you never have to get out to adjust in the cold, water, rain and snow. Best thing since sliced bread...

    Also going to be in the market for shocks. What should I expect for the 9000 you've talked about?

    So much for the kids college fund...I have my new 87 Blazer child to support :)

    What do you mean 9 clicks????
    My 9000 only have 1 thru 5 postions
    1=soft
    5=hard
    I aint never heard of no 9 clicker??????

    Water and mud have never been a problem the knobs are sealed with an O-ring! Now rocks that's a diff story I have busted two knobs so far on riverbed runs[IMG]. I cannot flip or reposition the shock, they only fit in one way!
    I soon will be converting the rear shock set up like DepDog's! hope you don't mind me copieing you Dep!!??

    I would like to see a test on the Ranco RSX! They are similar to the Edelbrock IAS "self adjusting" shocks that are getting great reviews. I have experienced the 9000's and they are cool. I would pass on the 5000's unless you're a poor boy like me! Better to save and buy some good 'uns!

    Sorry bout that my friend....
    We sit by the dock in the boat and drink plenty of liquids, partake of crab meat..howl at the ladies, watch the tall ships go by, and wait for evening for the fire works show. It takes place on the James River between Norfolk and Portsmouth Virginia. It is usually a great time. I go to Md. pick up the sailboat (50 foot) and sail it down for the weekend then head back.
