Shop Manuals on CD for \'89 TBI Sub?

Anyone know where I can buy (or get a copy of) the shop manuals for an '89 Sub 350 TBI on CD? I know they make them but I have no idea where to look, or what they cost.

Any pointers? Anyone got one that can make me a copy? I doubt you can buy them new anymore anyway after all this time...

It's not a manual on CD (although they used to do those), but '73 GMC Suburban - 502DFI

Hmmm, found the demo right after my last post. Looks like it has some fairly low quality schematics and stuff. Thanks, still hoping for the dealer shop manuals on CD...

LOL, yeah, I remember the conversation. I guess I misunderstood. I thought we were talking about the Military CUCV K30 maintenance manuals. Didn't realize you have all the '89 Manuals for the Sub too. Thanks for straightening me out. [IMG]

Looks like a pretty good deal when you have a homogenous truck. Problem is, I would have to buy 2 sets in order to cover everything. To get torque specs, schematics, and 3R info on most of the drive train and chassis, I would need books on an 85 K30. To cover my engine and main electrical harness, I need 89 Sub. And that is just what I have so far. Who knows what the future brings. [IMG]

I also looked at the Chilton's CDs. The CD can be unlocked for only one vehicle. To get 2 vehicles, you have to buy another key at the same price. Also, the Chilton schematics and electrical info that I have seen leave allot to be desired. Still, it beats having a stack of books to dig through with greasy fingerprints, coolant stains, and torn pages. I really want CD(s) for the small space/search/print ability.

also have a 91 sub, and would be interested in those rascals! Checked the web and it didn't list them? did i miss a step? Have you received them yet? I'm about to dish out $50 for a set for a 90.. (thinking it's gotta be 95% on target... this thread now has me wondering if just biting the bullet and getting this set (now that i know it's avail).. would be mo'betta?)

Be carefull, looks like there may be a significant split in the '89-'91 range. Not sure but you can see why I mention it if you look at my other wiring related thread here

I got my CD's at a K mart ..I see popular mechanics makes them . I know they have a website not sure what the address is ?? Maybe do a search for them ?? The costs for the CD's where 20 dollars and you get a choice of repair or TSB's ...one of those costs 5 dollars

one other thought on those manuals.... Wasn't 91 one of the years were Sub's solid axles/etc & most of the rest of them were IFS/different engines/etc? Let me know how 'exclusive' the set is to suburbans. Thanks!

Re: Shop Manuals on CD for \'89 TBI Sub?

The pickups had IFS in '91, I believe. The set covers 1/2 and 3/4 ton '91 pickups, Blazers (NOT the wanna-be a fullsizes) and Suburbans. Since the Blazers and Suburbans share an almost identical setup, I would imagine that it would cover both the live axle and IFS versions and probably breaks it down by vehicle.

I guess it was too much trouble to make a manual called just "1991 R/V Suburban".

The learning curve is a toll road...ride with someone who has already paid!
