Shopping for a tow strap

    After the experince at Hollister last week (thanks Mike).. It's time for me to get a tow strap (or straps)... What size and lb. capacity should I get?

    I got a few off ebay. It depends on the truck you have and the trucks that you wheel with. I have with me a 32' 6" 60,000 lb and a 4 inch 120,000 lb as well as a 2 inch 25,000 lb. The heavier the vehicals the stonger you want the strap to be. If you just want to get one strap i would go with a 4 inch 40,000 lb.

    i went with a canyon crawler 30'x3" 30,000lb and i like it it's just fine. strong enough for my suburban/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    whatever you do, don't get a 2" strap. IT'll snap under the weight of a k5.

    i would recomend a 4" x 30'

    they have enough give for a smooth recovery yet they hold up to a stuck vehcicle in sticky clay.

    With a Blazer, I would go with the biggest you can talk yourself into paying for.

    Straps are expensive... But if I'm going to buy one,might as well get the biggest one right? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    I agree with muddysub i have a 3x30 canyon crawler and never had a prob i like it cause most everybody's d-rings fit it!!!
