agreed on the shotgun news. either that or a local gun show, they always have lots of shotty accessories and cheap ammo too. On my 8-shot 18.1" mossberg 500, I added a choate pistol grip stock, sorta like....

bbl/mag clamp + sling swivels stud and swivel...

    a sidesaddle...

    and heat shield...

all these things combined make it a pretty decent shotty. I can lob 8 rounds of buck down range purdy quick. The pistolgrip style stock really helps controlling the beast, especially with 3" shells. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Once I learn how to machine stuff, Im gonna make myself a much beefier bbl/mag clamp that will double as a bayonet lug. I have one of these bayos and it'd be swizeet to mount it WWI combat style...

its just like that, but it has some of them wacky notches in it towards the hilt sorta like the rambo knives. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You can put a pistol grip on it, if you do, you can forget hunting with it (if thats a concern...)

Depends on what you want to do with it.

You can do the heat shield, side saddles, pistol grip, pistol + butt stock, even an AR15 CARR style (I think they call it that) adjustable butt stock with pistol grip, heat shield....

You can also get a lighting system, vented barrel, choke barrel, all depends on what your trying to do with it

My mossberg persuader came with a pistol grip, 18" barrel, and a heat shield from the factory. Thought about making it into a turkey gun, but realized it was almost the same cost as just purchasing a dedicated one.

My Mossberg 500 18" barrel came with a sheild, stock and a pistol grip.
I added a side saddle and a Butler creek folding stock.
The extractors are worn out in it so I figure it is as good as time as any to get a 509.
Gotta love a shotgun.. nothing quite says Stop like the sound of a shotgun cycling a round.

How many rounds did you cycle before the extractors wore out? I thought they were good easily for 50,000 rounds.
