I'm ordering springs this week for my rig and I've found the ones I want for 387 from three different companies. 4wheel parts only wants 40 for shipping the other companies want 80. Is it worth it to chance it with 4wheel parts?
    Thanks
    -Aaron

    ** UPDATE **
I put a call into ORD they didn't have the skyjackers but they had another spring that I was satisfied with and got me a better deal on the springs and shipping for a few bucks more than the other companies wanted for just the springs. Thanks to everyone who responded :) I love this place.

    Thanks guys,
    Aaron

I've had either 4 or 5 different orders from that place and they completely messed up all of them except for one order!!! I hate them and will never order anything else from them. The good thing is, you can almost always find another place that carries the part you need if you do enough research. Don't do it!

wow, i'm suprised to hear all the slander about 4wheelparts. I've never had a problem with an order except for a rear sway bar and that was due to my 83 having an 84 rear axle which I didn't know about.

sure you should chance them if you are for companies that screw people over. Come awn man, you know their reputation, you know what they stand for. Why not pay a little more to a small shop that is just starting? Or endorse a big company with a good name. I realize money is money, but so is good taste and honor. I'm a penny pinching sob, but I went to ORD for my front springs and had absolutely NO problem!!!

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly was the difference? I don't believe there is ANY difference in the corporate 1/2 ton 10 bolts, from about 1981-1991. Probably just another lie to make it seem like it wasn't their fault.

What kind of springs are you ordering? I got some rough country springs from rough country (ordered it thru their website) and about three days later, they arrived. The whole lift was complete, in tacked and everything. If you go directly to the company, that might be better. I don't support poor service no matter how much money it might save.

Re: Should I chance it with 4WheelParts?

8 inch springs, I was planning on skyjacker softride as they were the cheapest I saw but I'd take darn near anything. I'm trying to keep the cost for springs under 400 which seems to rule out a shackleflip and 4 inch spring combo.
BTW, I just put a call into ORD and they're checking on prices now, I will go with them if possible otherwise probably with kerstners.

Thanks for the info and thank you everyone for the quick replies.

I sa go with 4WPW. I've never had any problems either in person, online or on the phone. Good service at good prices since first dealing with them in '93.

Do a search on the internet for skyjacker suspension and see what you come up with. You might be able to order straight from them and cut the middle man out and get better service.

I have found out if you deal factory direct, like with Skyjacker, they charge more. [IMG] I have gone to retailers to get cheaper prices. My guess, when a dealer buys from the factory, they get them at a cheaper cost, and jack on a slight percentage.

I have found Rocky Mountain Suspension Products to give me the best prices. They take the orders from you and the factories send them to you.
