In my '85. I currently have a 350/208 combo, it came in the K5 when I got it. It was switch out for the 700r. Should I go w/ an sm 465, or 700r w/ a manumatic valvebody, or stay w/ a 350? Ideally would like a NV 4500. I planning on going w/ the Doubler. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks Ed
    P.S. I'm running a 14FF w/ 4.56's & 35's.

I wouldn't try to go from an auto to a manual because of the modifications. I am not sure if you want lower gearing and the overdrive, if not stay with the th350. I personally would go with a th400 because of the strength.

What modifications? Going from auto to manual is a straight bolt in swap.

I went to NV4500 from 465 and never regretted it. Love the 5th gear with my 4.56's and 33's. Not cheap but not difficult really, especially with the 208, bolts right up to GM NV4500.
