A friend suggested this but I thought I would ask you guys first... He said I should paint the front grill and headlight moldings on my '88 black, the truck is blk. He said to mask off all the chrome and clean it really good with rubbing alcohol, primer 2X and paint 2X. Has anyone else done this on their K5/Sub/Trk? How did it turn out? Will it eventually have that chipped up look? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Yes, it will look good. Use good paint and it will last fine. I did'nt bother using primer.

i did mine and it looked awesome----open your hood and along the top there should be (about)4 or 5 small screws---take them off. that will loosen the grill itself. for the light molding there is 2 on top and t on the bottom that are diagional and this will take those off. if you still have some moldings in the center of the grill on the back side threre are (bolts) but there not really bolts, holding on the molding----taking everything off gives it a real clean look, and i painted the bowtie in the middle Chevy orange and it looked cool

I painted my grill with rattle can black.. it looked really good until the litle bugs, and rock chips made little white marks all over it... /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Looks like I'm gonna paint the grill... We're supposed to have some sun for the next few days so I'll pick up some Krylon semi-flat black to make the grill match the Warn bumper. I'll post some pics later... Ed

It'll chip up! You should get some automotive paint and put it in a sprayer. This stuff is way more durable.

Unless you don't mind repainting the grill every once in while. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
