    I voted "Leave as is"
The recently rebuilt 350 that was "bestowed" upon me is totally orange - valve covers, intake manifold - just about everything but the carb. Too much orange for me, but hey - whatever floats yer boat. Guess I can't complain since it was free.

Probably leave as is. When I bought my Jimmy, the engine was painted Ford Blue. It's kinda cool and makes it real easy to see any oil leaks and all the dirt.

I'd paint it bright yellow, and dress it up with crome, or black valve covers and breather. That'd be different. Mine is all orange and boring.

I read somewhere that black paint on an engine actually helps it run cooler. I remember thinking that it was interesting, and no wonder black is such a popular color for engines. I also remember the source was reputable, but I can't remember where I read it. I'd say that is a good reason to leave it black. The place that I read it may have been the Jet Hot Coatings brochure. I still have it but I'm moving so I'll try to remember to look for it.

Paint it Pontiac blue...one of my favorite engine colors. I'm not very partial to orange. Nice job on the motor Jeff, but to me it looks like a big pumpkin. No offense.../forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Naaaa...! I'm waiting for Steph to go with the big hot Pink Mary Kay Blazer /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Anyone that knows me... my crazy color is Lime Green. Too bad my Blazer would be ugly as heck in lime green... maybe I can work lime green over black this summer. And everyone knows I hate chrome and BS in the engine compartment cause my cars aren't gonna sit around with the hood up. You wanna know what I got... race me and find out! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
