Should I use restrictors on the intake gaskets?

I'm getting ready to install my intake manifold and want to know about the restrictors that come with the intake gaskets. What is their purpose? Does it have something to do with the choke coil that mounts on the factory manifold? I have an Edelbrock Performer intake and a 1405 series carb that the PO put an electric choke kit on. So my ? is: Do I use one, both or none of the restrictors? If I just use one, which side do I use it on?

I say yes you most definatly do need to use them. Your in a warm climate and having the electric choke kit installed you don't want the hot gases under the carb. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
