First off...Wes...not that gun /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif.

Here's mine:
http://www.bluefox.tv/~iroc/gun.jpg

Little...but lethal *evil grin*

Never has been fired! My mom used to have it and the only time it's been used was when someone attacked her and she whacked him in the face with it. It saved her /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Anyway...I don't know how to clean it at all and what you're supposed to use /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Here's PDW numero uno http://www.streetpro.com/usp/
And then there's the Moss500 18.5 inch barrel, pistol grip only model hiding somewhere around here. By the way, everyone outside of the People's Republik of Kaliforny that are posting pics of your AR's, you suck. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Well, what do you use to clean them smarty pants? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif I got it not too long ago. And I don't really use it for defense since I'm not license yet and I don't know how to clean a gun, so I figured I'd learn a little bit more before I go carrying it around. From what I understand, it's only accurate up to about 5 feet which really is the usual distance you are from someone isn't it? It defended my mom pretty good.....

go to a sporting goods store or gun store and get some Hoppes #9. Its great for cleaning barrels. I just use regular gun oil and some rags/q-tips to clean the rest of the gun...

I am a cleaning freak! lol, i clean guns at work cause I work in a gun store, and lucky me, what pee on jobs do I get....

It is super easy, q-tips, break-free clp which is a penatrating oil or tetra gun oil, a bore brush or my favorite, Bore Snake. Also break cleaner or the expensive Gun Scrubber 4x's as much as break cleaner is awesome for cleaning off parts, esp hard to get into area or actions that are a PITA to fully disassemble.

BTW, a .25? ewww

Steyr, the other gun made in Austria...love my M-9 9mm, is similar to a Glock but better /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Lara,

If you'll go see the guy on travis street there in sherman at shooters supply, (downtown about a block north of the courthouse) he'll take care of ya, I forget his name now (I think it's Ronney) Nice guy.

Only if that's in a reasonable distance from you, if I remember right your in callisburg but I could be wrong on that. But there may be someone closer I don't know just my .02

Lara,
Most defensive uses of a firearm consist of only brandishing the weapon. Most actual defensive shootings occur within 7 yards - about 21 feet. By all means, practice, practice, practice shooting it. Clean it every time you come home! A dirty firearm not only endangers you (or your loved ones) through the potential for malfunction, but through the potential of it not functioning when you really need it - to defend yourself or others.

Know your weapon inside and out!

take the concealed weapon course.

the idea of using a pistol as a bludgeoning instrument is frightening to me. it's a good thing your mother didn't shoot herself in the process.

i go by the concept that if i ever had to draw my firearm, my intent would be to kill. that being said, i have never drawn a firearm in self defense. if you're in close enough range to strike someone with a pistol then i'd say you're pretty much too close to draw it effectively and safely.

I'd like to read the opinions of the peace officers we have here on the board on this subject....

yep, the CAR15 *is* great. I loved the M16 when I was in the grunts... and a slightly shorter version with a telescoping stock is just that much cooler. That, and if a movie was ever gonna make a gun cool, Deniro in Heat with the CAR15 is it. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
