(Ed MCMahon Voice) YES! - You are correct sir! Silverados came with more handy little gadgets that quit working after a few years.

Prior to 1980 the late '70's Cheyenne models were the "Silverado comparable" trucks............my '79 Cheyenne has every option you can think of..............

Does anyone remember the Bonanza model back in 79? My dad had this model and it was loaded with everything imaginable.

Cheyenne was the high-end trim package back in the '70's. Silverado was the high-end trim package in the '80's. LT became the high-end trim package sometime in the '90's. It meant different things in different years, but usually included more chrome, a bit fancier dash bezel, etc.

For example, in the 80's, the Silverado package included the over/under, quad headlights. The standard optioned trucks got a single, large headlight on each side.

My '83 Silverado has the full carpet, rear trim panels, cloth seats, pwr. tailgate, body side moldings (I think I have one or two pieces left), chrome mirrors and bumpers, and non-power doors. I actually kind of like the manual doors, they are lighter when you are taking them off or putting them back on by yourself.
