Did you guys read the comics?

I thought it was a really weird movie and didn't understand why there was 3 different parts to it... along with marv or whatever wearing a million band-aids
Not my kind of movie I guess :p:

Bought it yesterday. It took me few minutes to get into it. When Michael Madson and Bruce Willis started their scene I almost couldn't take it, you know the bad acting and all, but after that I started really getting into it. It was pretty damn good. :waytogo: :waytogo:

Read only if you have seen the film

Steve, you need to realize that Sin City is not only a movie, it is a motion picture comic book. Movies have in the past been conduits of reality if not just for the fact that the actors perform like real people, this film has nothing to do with reality and it blatently shows so. It is good against evil in fantasy.

Exanmple ; Marv gets shot 20 times throughout his skit, gets hit in the head with a 12lb. sledgehammer, pounches out a wild wolf, pulls out irons bars from a concrete wall which lands on him, gets run over twice, gets electricuted for the first time and calls them pansies for botching up the job.

The bandeges that he was wearing are for humor.
    This film rocks.

You are the second person to say "I didn't get it" and I simply have no idea how people don't...

As for parts, there are more to come, 2 more movies in fact :D

I wasn't really a fan either. I saw the plots, sure, but I really didn't see them going anywhere of decency, and I didn't really see how they fit together at all... Not my kinda movie either, wish I could have those few hours back...

Well I didn't really understand why they put bandaids on for humour in that kind of movie. It would be better if they just left his skin normally... Along with that "junior" guy being yellow after getting his buddies grown back or whatever, that was kind of weird.

So it was a comic book made into a movie sort of deal. Not like a "Napolean dynamite" but more like a cartoon, but with people and no reality?

I guess I maybe have to read the comics first? oh well

its a dark noir style humor movie. That was the goal. ITs a sick sense of humor with lots of great action and moral stories too. I don't believe you will get it if you don't.

The comics are just stories from Sin City, as is the movie. Just stories of different things happening in the same scummy city.

The Yellow, well he stank, he was disformed and his skin turned yellow because of the treatments to grow his prick back, whats to be missed?

Sorry, movies are one of my favorite things and is my favorite movie, all of this stuff just fell in line for me when I watched it the first time so I have trouble seeing whats, hard to see.... I guess.

Didn't you think that Marv dragging that guys face on the ground was funny? Or Jackie boy giving Dwight a hard time about smoking when he himself is dead? The worst horror movies still throw in humor a lot of the time.
