Ok I just read on yahho news that the john ashcroft is being sued for civil rights violations WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is being sued for the way that the detainees were and are being treated isn't the reason that they are there was for the war acts against us...So they still have rights..?They (taliban) never thought about our rights when they flew the planes and never thought about the reporter they killed for no reason...Or to all the people that burn our flags overseas in the middle east...

Just venting ..Thanks for lettting me vent ...mike

I just don't know what to say about all that. I say we should treat them the same way they have treated thier prisoners. That would be fair wouldn't it ????

as US service member I have two sides to this coin. The one side is of course to do my job and do it with honor and use the laws of war. This being said means that I need to respect my enemy in the effect that doing something to them just because they are wrong is not the right answer. Part of the reason this country is so great is that the majority of its people try to help on another. Now for the other side of the coin, actually serving in hati, somilia and the gulf to include a few trips to the balkans and panama/ cuba. I have seen how other countries military memebers are treated. This is why we always have so many enemy forces that tend to surrender. Its better life for them as a EPW than fightin. Now is this right, NO. But its the only way I know how to do things. Part of the values that we try to enstill in our fellow memebers of the armed services Is to do right at all times even when there's nobody looking. And I'll tell you I try and try to do this but sometimes its very hard. I aplogize for the ramble. Just my .02 from the eyes of a soldier. Jesse
