Did this a couple days ago and these are the first pics I've taken. Was trotting down a hilled concrete driveway to grab the newspaper from the box when I tripped. I've had three sets of bandages on since alternating between bandages at night and letting them breathe during the day.

Those are the best shots I could get of the damage itself, my camera won't focus in exactly. I've got shots of the bandages from last night, but I know you guys don't wanna see those.

Dude, if you ever decide to shave your legs, make sure you take stock in Gillette.

Well, you've started it then. I do plan on shaving my legs (and arms) when these wounds heal up. I'm going to get the biggest, baddest hair trimmer I can get my hands on (one from a hair trimming kit), do that to take the hair off. All that hair, I may have already said, made putting the bandages on difficult, so I've gotten fed up with it.

    :haha:

Actually I don't get too many of those road rashs to the knees anymore... Its 1 pad I have to wear, with my killer braces underneath... Back when I was 16 yeah, a ton of hamburger...

The only knee carnage I've had in the way of blood in recent years was the 65 stitch, nail fiasco... :doah:

Pissed me off more that it wrecked a decent pair of kneepads... Eh, gave me an excuse to get these...

Woulda slid right out in the street.... :wink1:

Keep them loaded with ointment and covered for 5 days or so before starting to regularly airing and drying them out...

Okay, since you've been there a whole lot more being a skateboarder, I'll go with your advice. I was going to leave them uncovered tonight, but I guess not.

Yeah, the only reason I said that is those look like they'll scab lousy... Just the 2 big areas.. In that case, your better off letting the edge healing begin with keeping em moist... may take a day or so longer in the end, but it'll be a better, less annoying, heal...

Keeping 'em moist as in keeping a damp washcloth on the badly skinned up areas, the right knee?

Well, actually I was talking about when your out and about, being bandaged with ointment, they'll never hard scab..

But yeah, if your sitting around the house, a light coat of ointment and a warm, moist handtowel laying over it is great...

How about bandaging for work? This is how I've been bandaging the right knee:

Except the elastic tape you see at the bottom is pulled up over the pads. This seemed to be doing an okay job of holding the pads on, and I'm probably going to do this tomorrow morning so I can go to work.
