You guys don't think that an 11.4 quarter mile is impressive for a fullsize truck?

I dont care if its diesel or not. 11's in the 1/4 is a helluva decent run for a big tired, heavy ass crew cab 4x4. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

    quick calculation...

the F350 SRW diesel with driver and NO mods (I.e. not lifted, stock tires, etc... which that truck had a lift and big tires) weighs in at a whopping 6200lbs. Add a driver at roughly 200lbs and obviously some mods and you are staring at 6500 - 7000 lbs. so lets say 6800lbs with lift, tires, mods, driver, etc...

    6800lbs,
    11.42 in the quarter mile
    118mph
    equals roughly 900hp and somewhere in the range of 1500lb-ft of torque. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

    Holy [darn]! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

More money than brains... what do you figure it feels like to drive a brick at 118mph in 11.42 seconds?

could be but the trucks light was green for him to go /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif the way our drags work is they pair et times with et times in line that way everyone gets fairly evenly matched /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yeah, it doesn't matter when you take off. There's a laser beam that is intercepted by your front tires (similar to the ones on garage doors to keep them from squasing cats and children). Once you take off, the beam is no longer broken and the timer starts. This is why you'll see drivers creeping up ever so slowly at the line. They're trying to get the beam on the very back side of their tire that way they have a few inches less to travel overall.

[/ QUOTE ]the diesel thing was a joke... How many diesel powered trucks have you seen that could make a 1/4 mile in less than a week?
