Now, I dunno what's going on with it exactly, but an hour ago, I was making a trip across town. It's cold as heck out (19 degrees), and I fired up the truck, put it in gear, and started to go. However, the truck seemed like it didn't want to get out of 2nd gear when I was driving.. it would downshift, but it didn't want to go into 3rd. Could this have been caused by the cold? Later on, the tranny was working fine.. I have no idea why this happened... advice?

sometimes the seals in the tranny get old and brittle and are affected by the cold

The tranny isn't leaking any fluid though. The seals are in tact.

it is not the outer seals it is the inner seals call a local tranny shop and ask them and see how much a re-seal will run you
