I got a line on a SM465/NP205 out of a 80 K20. My K5 has a 700r4 and a NP208?? What I was wondering is is this swap difficult? The thing that concerns me the most is the crossover mount. I know the driveshaft will have to be changed as well as the peddles. Will the front driveshaft from the K5 work?
Is $250 for trans/transfer a good price?
Any tips will be appreciated!
Is this swap worth the hassle? The K5's main purpose is a tow vehicle and in the process of installing 3/4 ton rears.
Thanks in advance.

I think 80 is the slip yoke 205s. These are bad because if you bust a u-joint or a driveshaft you cant drive out in 4wd because the yoke is what holds the fluid in. Its easy to convert though.

That sucks! Thought it was kinda cheap. Hmmmm!.........and all along I thought all 205's were fixed yoke. Learn something new everyday.

Thanks, I'll be sure to stay clear!
