smallest lift for 44\" tires?

I am looking to go with the smallest overall lift plus some minor fender triming to fit 44" boggers. Would anyone happen to have done this or know anything about. Right now I have 8 inches of lift...Would a body lift make this work? Any info anyone might shine of the subject is appricated.
Thanks,
Mike

Smallest lift, minor trimming and 44's. All in the same sentence...never thought I'd see that![IMG]

There was a truck on the cover of Petersons a while back, it was lifted 8" and had 44's on it. I don't believe minor was the word to describe the trimming though. Epic might be more appropriate! It was a cool truck, and flexed pretty good too!

most of the blazers that i have seen with 44's, have a 12" lift with a 3" body lift.

I am planning on 8 inch susp and 3 inch body and 44's. The fender cutting to fit 44's with an 8 inch and no body lift isnt extreme although it is alot. If you look in the message board at offroad.com/chevy there is a blazer there with 44's on like the 4th page.
Good luck,
Aaron

years ago there was a blazer in i think 4wheel and off road that had very little lift, and 44's.he tubbed(sp) out the rear to keep em under the truck and did major firewall mods to keep em under the front, and still turn.i think he lived in a state, that you could only lift so high but he wanted 44's.and he got em!does anyone remember this one???

Well if this helps I have 39.5 tsl's on 15x12 wheels with 8" springs (front & rear) with 2" shackles in front and a 2 1/2" flip kit in rear and a 3" body lift, but without fender trimming and I rubbed the right front fender last week and took a chunck out of my tsl. 44 boggers are huge but I think it probably could be done starting with the 8" lift but fender trimming may get out of control. I'm actually going to try 44 tsl's with what I have but I have to upgrade my axles and such first but I'm willing to trim because mine is a weekend play toy.

Hell, you don't need a lift. Just break out the sawz and the welding torch....little here...little there....LOT there....you get what i'm saying [IMG]. I saw a picture one time of a guy with a stock blazer that cut the front end to death, looked good though, he cut it enough to fit 40"s. Can't see why you couldn't make the extra room for 4 more inches.

K5 just upgraded to rig status! [IMG]

I remember that one. I think it was yellow. He had a 4in lift and cut his fenders up to the body line or a little further and had to relocate his gas tank door. Looked a little strange.

No no no...it's not QUAGMIRE. Quag, is a k20 or k30 that has airbag suspension, a 5 ton rear axle, dana 60 front, 40s in the front, 48s in the rear...and it's painted red/white/silver. I wanna see pics too.

Re: smallest lift for 44\" tires?

I've got a set of 4" BDS springs to go in the front of my Blazer. I've also installed the 3" body lift. I'm plannin' on runnin' 44's. Comin' from the land of Jeeps, I don't think I'd be callin' the trimming "epic" or "excessive". Not by a long shot.

4" suspension lift, 3" body, majorly cut fenders and 39.5x15's. I haven't flexed out yet, but it should be o.k., if I cut the fenders any more I would have to remove the inner wheel well. I think 8" suspension and 3" body lift and major cut out fenders would be minimum.

Re: smallest lift for 44\" tires?

I think the width of the 44 boggers is what'll kill you. You may want to consider moving the front axle forward a couple inches to avoid firewall mods with a small lift. I'd like to put 44's on mine (with the current suspension), but can't afford them, plus I wish they came in a 15" wide version.

I remember that yellow Blazer too, I think it was on the cover.

had 44" boggers on a k5 with a 6" suspension lift, 3" body lift and cut fenders. Worked fine.

Qaugmire was cool, it had acharged or nitrous (can't remember which) big block, a fiberglass bed, and it ran the stock 205, never opened up! Man, bigblock and rear 48's, and no pronblem with the 205. Gotta love it.
