I just left my driveway, in reverse, backing up the hill, when all of the sudden I smell something burning!! I was like what the hell is that? Then smoke starts coming out of my center vent (above the heater/ac control)[IMG]!! I shut the Blazer off, sat there for a couple of minutes and started it back up again. Went down town and no smell or smoke the whole way down and back. WTF?!?!?!? I guess I get to pull off the dash pad tomorrow and see what fried. The radio and everything I could think of to check still works, so we'll see what I find out tomorrow. Made me think I should invest in a fire extinguisher.......just in case.................

I don't know about what's on fire or what fried but as far as the fire extinguisher, GET ONE We were wheeling and one of the guys truck caught fire from the tranny pucking fluid all over the headers. Well to make a long story short, 3 of us had extinguishers on it and out within 15 seconds. Glad to see that absolutly no damage was done and after letting it cool off it started right up with NO problems.

Definitely after that little incident... The $20 spent would be well worth the investment. I once watched as a guys car caught fire Started small) and burned to the ground (saw the marks later that night) on the interstate. Nothing I could do but watch as it got started... Poor bugger...

HEEHEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The EXACT same thing happened to me a few years ago, from right behind the heater control. POOF...........Man did I freak[IMG]!!!!

FWIW, whatever happened back there never seeemed to affect my rig. It's been over 5 years and everything works and there's been no further "smoke shows"!!
